Computer Art

After church today I went directly straight home and began to work on an art project that is due later this week in my Fundamental Design class. My professor is super picky and has nerve to grab your artwork and move pieces around or draw on your sketch (that makes me one up-happy camper). So! As a solution for this small annoying problem I have done all of the cutting out at home. And Tuesday I will be able to buy the necessary backdrop. Once I get that I will 'rubber-cement' it down and turn it in. But here is the most important part :D

Yay Native American Radial Art

Today I learned that the Open Office download has a drawing program! Weeeeeeee. I'm not a professional, but being its my first go round I don't think I'm too shabby :D I'm also very excited and noob-ish.

Army Trunk

Similar to the one I bought
My room is an utter clutter. Its a small room, roughly 10x10. I have a large dresser, a desk, a bookshelf, and a queen bed. So needless to say there is very little space. My idea is to get rid of the queen bed and try to re-position the furniture for more room. I hope to get a futon to sleep on as well. at first I was looking into a Captains Trundle Bed, but they are way out of my price range. But first things first. My one idea is to have a old trunk in the middle of the room. I'm actually very excited because I found one in great condition near my school. And for only $35! Usually I find them in terrible condition and priced for $120. But this one is a steal and I got it today. :D It was owned by a Captain John B. Cullen. the trunk was shipped from Vietnam to Oakland California, and now I have it here in Virginia! I will do a photo-shoot with it and make sure to put it up soon! Right now I'm doing an online room setup at  , and this site is pretty good. Wish i was able to name the furniture, but it gets the point across. I'll post those soon as well. So keep a look out.

Mom

I found an old box of photos under my mothers bed today. They included pictures from when mom was a baby to when I was 12. My heart was completely struck when I found photos of mom and dad when they were still together.

Mom, Peaches, Dad, and baby me

But lets start with all the photos I found of my beautiful mommy. I'm not completely sure why but she doesn't find herself that attractive. I personally think she is the most beautiful woman in the world, tied with grandma of course!

Gammy

But my mother is pretty, funny, smart, and everything else under the sun. And mom might not be too happy with me posting this but I feel the world needs to know!
So say Hello to my mommy!

Mother the biggest gift of God to us
Mother the candle burn herself to light our life
Mother the other name of kindness
Mother who hold us nine month and suffer
Mother who feed us from her blood and milk
Mother stays sleepless all the nights holding us
Mother teach us how to walk and talk
Mother guides us and secures us
Mother loves us from start to end
Mother is mother no one can take her place

My Corner

A couple of weeks ago I got this ~*~crazy~*~ idea to clean my room! I know, nuts. So after all the blood sweat and tears were over with I took photos. Welcome to my humble abode :)

Itty Bitty Room
I drew the tinkerbell on the wall when I was about 12 years old. Not to shabby huh? I need to figure out how to open up the room. The bed takes up like all of it! But that is a whole other post! Haha.

Make shift Night stand

In case your wondering, the black box is the Typerwriter my loverly boyfriend Josh gave me! Well actually its just the box :/ The typewriter lost a screw or something so it does not work. Therefore Josh has it at his place and I have old notebooks in the box.

I am a box/container/holder fanatic. I love little cloth or plastic bins to put stuff in! The art on the wall is one I did senior yer of high school, it was actually put in an art show.

I am very much a child at heart still, and always will be. If you look closely in the bins you will see Nancy Drew games (I have them all) and Barbie moves (I have them all too!). The little wire sculpture is a horse Josh got me while he was away in Florida.

This is the top of my bookshelf. The teddy bear is from my mom this Valentines Day. The floral cake stand is from Josh's mommy. The picture is of my papa. And the broken record is one Josh broke that I put back together.

If you want to know more about my house and projects I do, keep coming back! Also look out for my mom's blog Here:)

Or me and Josh's Here:3

Outside My Dream Home

I've always loved home renovations and hope to one day get my small and quaint dream home.
These are a few pics of houses of all sorts and in all conditions that caught my eye.
If I could see myself coming home to it, I put it up.

The Contestants:
Needs a little fixing, but it could be amazing!
I love the blue color and the plants make it so adorable.
The bay window really gets me going. And I have always loved little side doors in older houses.
Ooohh the white picket fence of all american dreamers. I like the, I'm guessing stucco,
that it is made of, as well as the little archway.
The brick is a lovely color, and the shape is nice.
The porch is really nice. And of course the plants!
Just For Fun

((Hey I can dream can't I?))

BOYS SUCK

You know what? I seriously think that Disney should be sued. Making us poor girls think that there are great boys out there that will sweep us off our feet and save us from the world.
Well I have just figured out that we as girls need to save ourselves from guys! I'm sure there are really cool nice sweet romantic guys out there. But hey, they're gay, so no help there.

I, AmberJean, have had the last straw when it comes to guys.

Even some "Good-Ol Christian Boys" will you screw over.
Its utterly ridiculous!

Get to Know Me

I know I have a "about me" section on this here webbysite. But I thought maybe you'd like to know a little more about me! So everyday I'll give you some info and a story!

I am one out of nine.
Johnathan Lee - 35
Elizabeth Jo - 33
Jamie - 24?
Dean - 23
Jon - 21
Nathan - 20
Me - 19
Brittany Nichole - 15
Joshua Micheal - 13

There is one girl I have know since I was about 3 years old. Her name is Jessica. I can't remember if we met because we had our horses at the same barn or because her mother (Annie) introduced my Aunt Debbie to the lady she bought her horse Skipper (r.i.p.) from.
Now Jessica is only a year older then me. So we've grown very close and we call eachother sisters because we might as well have been. We have tons of amazingly hysterical stories. Eventually as we grew up we got comfortable with the fact that we are spazzes.

Story Time!

The Evil Furby.

For Christmas my grandfather had given me a Santa Furby. I thought it was really cute and I carried with me where-ever I went. But just like any other toy a child gets, soon it was outdated and not fun anymore. So it just sat atop my tv. One night Jessica came over and we were doing whatever it was we did when we were nine and I heard a funny noise. We stopped and looked up and the Furby. It was talking but we hadn't touched it. I figured the batteries were faulty so I took it down stairs and gave it to dad. He removed the batteries and I took it back upstairs and placed it in a desk drawer. Me and Jessica continued playing when from no where. . .
"I'm Hungry!"
We were scared crappless! With the batteries out the creepy thing was still talking! So we built a pillow fort on the opposite side of the room, in-case it tried to eat our souls.
Luckily we were having a yard-sale soon, and as the man my dad is, he made sure that Furby was out of the house and it was sold on the first day of the yard-sale.
What my furby looked like,

Woman Safty

It seems that women can be scared to do things because they are afraid of getting hurt. And I'm not talking about falling down the stairs or breaking a nail.
THIS is a much more SERIOUS matter.
Rape.

Did you know that 683,000 forcible rapes occur every year?
That equals 56,916 per month. Which is 1,871 per day.
78 per hour. That is 1.3 per minute.

Here is some very vital information to help all of us females out! Its was information obtained by an interview of a number of rapists.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
‎”THROUGH A RAPIST’S EYES” (PLS TAKE TIME TO READ THIS. it may save a life.) Reblog this!

It seems that alot of attackers use some tactic to get away with violence. Not many people know how to take care of themselves when faced with such a
situation. Everyone should read this especially each n every girl in this world. THOUGHT THIS WAS GOOD INFO TO PASS ALONG…

FYI - Through a rapist’s eyes! A group of rapists and date rapists in prison were interviewed on what they look for in a potential victim and here are some interesting facts:

1] The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle.
They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun! , braid, or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed. They are also likely to go after a woman with long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.

2] The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women who’s clothing is easy to remove quickly. Many of them carry scissors around to cut clothing.

3] They also look for women using their cell phone, searching through their purse or doing other activities while walking because they are off guard and can be easily overpowered.

4] The number one place women are abducted from / attacked at is grocery store parking lots.

5] Number two is office parking lots/garages.

6] Number three is public restrooms.

7] The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman and quickly move her to a second location where they don’t have to worry about getting caught.

8] If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going after you isn’t worth it because it will be time-consuming.

9] These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas,or other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their hands.

10] Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince these guys you’re not worth it.

———————————————————————————————————————————-

POINTS THAT WE SHOULD REMEMBER:

1] If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage or with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask them a question, like what time is it, or make general small talk:
can’t believe it is so cold out here, we’re in for a bad winter. Now that you've seen their faces and could identify them in a line- up, you lose appeal as a target.

2] If someone is coming toward you, hold out your hands in front of you and yell Stop or Stay back! Most of the rapists this man talked to said they’d leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would
not be afraid to fight back. Again, they are looking for an EASY target.

3] If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of it and carries it with him wherever he goes,) yelling I HAVE PEPPER SPRAY and holding it out will be a deterrent.

4] If someone grabs you, you can’t beat them with strength but you can do it by outsmarting them. If you are grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm between the elbow and
armpit or in the upper inner thigh - HARD. One woman in a class this guy taught told him she used the underarm pinch on a guy who was trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin and tore out muscle strands the guy needed stitches. Try pinching yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it; it really hurts.

5] After the initial hit, always go for the groin. I know from a particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guy’s parts it is extremely painful. You might think that you’ll anger the guy and make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our
instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause him a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble, and he’s out of there.

6] When the guy puts his hands up to you, grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible. The instructor did it to me without using
much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked audibly.

7] Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of your surroundings, take someone with you if you can and if you see any odd behavior, don’t dismiss it, go with your instincts. You may feel
little silly at the time, but you’d feel much worse if the guy really was trouble.

——————————————————————————————————————————-

FINALLY, PLEASE REMEMBER THESE AS WELL ….

I know you are smart enough to know these pointers but there will be some, where you will go “hmm I must remember that” After reading forward it to someone you care about, never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do it.

2. Learned this from a tourist guide to New Orleans : if a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you…. chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or
purse than you and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car: Kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won’t see you but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON’T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU CLOSE the DOORS , LEAVE.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
a. Be aware: look around your car as someone may be
hiding at the passenger side , peek into your car, inside the passenger side floor, and in the back seat. ( DO THIS TOO BEFORE RIDING A TAXI CAB) .
b. If you! u are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
c. Look at the car parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot).

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 timesAnd even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked “for help” into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and it’s better safe than sorry.

Sopa

Wow.

So the government wants to sensor the inter-webs ehh? Interesting. I've heard that sites like Facebook and Deviant-Art will go down. Not sure I understand why though.

From what little I do know, I am not in favor of it. If sites such as FB do go down it would put a damper on me and all the military wives and girlfriends. Its hard enough communicating with our
soldiers and sailors.
And even though it as an American bill, the internet is used by the world! So that means other sections of the world, other countries will be effected.  Please make your way over to Google.com and vote against it!

I know I can

Epiphany!
I had one!

I am a somewhat talented girl. I can hold my own. And I can do whatever I want to in this life I have. I can become an artist or photographer. I could become president if I really wanted to! I am in college and working on writing a book. Slowly but surely. I do photography and draw and sing. I make my own clothes! I can do wonders and you know what? I don't need a stinking male to mess my groove up.

I mean don't get me wrong. I want a picket fence life style one day. But I'm Nineteen years old. I have so much ahead of me. And yeah I may think its slow now but everything will happen in due time. And even though I may be stuck in the house from 7am to 9pm alone isn't all a bad thing. I mean, I get to paint all day so I'm working on my art! And I can study. I can't complete my school tasks being as I don't have access to the internet at my mothers. But that's okay! I'll do the thousands of chores she gives me and then argue for the car so I can do homework at the library. Or I can wait til she gets home so she can hover over me -.-
Oh the joy of protective mothers.

But yes! This is AmberJean. Moving on and Being HAPPY.

Rant

"Who knew that my heart could ever bruise?"

LOVE
Only been a day and I am torn up so confusedly. Yay love and boys and junk. You think things are gonna be fixed and everything is gonna go well and then . . . well in this case I slipped up. Or maybe I didn't, maybe I didn't do a darn thing wrong and he just couldn't handle it. Gah. I just don't know. You think when someone says they want to try again that they, you know, TRY. But this just looks like a rerun and I feel like. . . what else is on? I mean I really thought we had something going and everything was great, until I decided to try to lean on him and explain my heart and what I've been feeling. I thought third times the charm but the more I think about it the more it creeps into my head that. . . it shouldn't take three times.

GROWING UP
really do hate being my age sometimes. Getting hopes up with romance and school and finding a job and getting out on my own, then it all just crashing down on you with a bearing "No". Makes it hard sometimes. Have you ever got to the point where you're so stuck you just have no clue what to do, where to go, or if you can even get there? Being 19 I want to get out on my own but because of certain situations its difficult for me. No car. No places I applied for a job calling back. No internet at my mothers.
I want to start my life, it hasn't even begun.
But its like the world is holding me back.

I tried to move out to help a friend who is about to have a baby and that blows up in my face with her family attacking me and saying some things that people just. . .shouldn't say. I keep looking for signs of what I should do, where I should go. But there is nothing in my view.
It really gets me down.

Welcome Home

Patrick in Iraq.

Whoooo! Today PFC Patrick Evans comes home from Texas/Iraq.
I haven't seen him since. . .ohhhh April?
He was supposed to be in around err well now ha. But he was smart and went ahead and got a hotel room at midnight (should have been sooner -.-). So I talked to his madre' (Rosemary) and he should be here in five hours. I must say I am a little nervous with seeing him since we had a slight falling out in July but high hopes and low expectations right?
Yush.
But the photo above I found online last-night via Rosemary's Facebook. Took a while to scroll down. But with that big ol' cheesy grin of his I feel it was well worth it.
He looks so different. Ha, tan for one. But his skin is clearer, and from what he's told me he's gained a good ohhh 20lbs? Maybe more.
Anyways I'm happy he made it home safe!

First Post :D

Alright. Post numero uno! Excitement.

ART/PHOTOS
Not too much has been going on right now. Basically catching up on doing art for the most part. I've been itching to do some photo-shoots and have one in August that is coming up and one in March. One engagement and one Wedding. Weeeee!
I have a Deviant Art account (CasperKitty) with a lot of my photos on there. I've been drawing and painting like crazy here lately so I have a huge amount to upload there.

SCHOOL
Gah! Every plant looks the same practically! And they each have a page of information, and this book is huge! And I don't mean by pages. Its wide and awkward trying to highlight and write notes. But only a few more sections (three I think) and I can move onto my smaller more compact book, that has tons of pages. Ehck, you win some you lose some.

LIFE
Bahaha. Oh. I'm 19 years old so my life is going to be crazy! Ha-ha . . . no. Actually I live a pretty normal and quite life, being as I have no job and my mom had taken over my car. So basically I sit all day at home and paint. Yup. But Every once in a while something exciting must happen right? RIGHT! Tomorrow (January 13th 2012) a dear friend comes home! He is in the army and has been away to Iraq or somewhere near there for nine or so months. So yay reunited-ness!
